We’re delighted to welcome back Sami for what has become an annual celebration of an inspirational winery, a great friendship and some amazing flavours. Sami will say a bit about his wines, but I suspect more about life in Lebanon and the Middle East, veering off along whatever tangent comes to mind. Based on considerable experience, I’m confident to promise that it will be a fascinating, thought-provoking and an utterly delicious way to while away a Sunday afternoon.

You’ll get to taste through the entire production from their two wineries, one in the Bekaa Valley and one in Faqra on Mount Lebanon. A fine range that includes a white, rosé and three reds. Join us later for an ‘optional extra’ glass of Arak if you fancy it too.

The accompanying feast will include the following Lebanese delights:

Mezze:

Baba Ghanoush (my secret recipe!)
Hummus
Labneh
Tabbouleh
Beetroot & Chickpea Salad
Lentil Falafel
Stuffed Chard rolls

Mains

Marinated Leg of Salt Marsh Lamb
Chicken Kafta
Hake Siyadiyeh
Served with dukkah-spiced potatoes and za’atar roasted courgettes

Dessert

Assorted baklava
Lemon and rosewater possets with a pistachio crumb

We’ll start at 2.30pm with a 175ml glass of rosé as an aperitif. You’ll be given vouchers to redeem against 125ml glasses of each of the other four wines. For the thirsty, you can purchase additional wines by the glass or by the bottle

We have a number of tables available to seat 4, 6 or 8. So we can make the most of Sami’s visit, we’ll be grouping bookings of 2 on one long table. A congenial setting to suit the spirit of Lebanon.
